TEMPERAMENT
The Ragdoll is an extremely docile cat. Large in size, she is admired for her affectionate nature and the softness of her fur. Also known as the “dog-cat,” the Ragdoll is a gentle giant deeply attached to her owners. She will eagerly follow them everywhere.
Behaviour
Talkative:
Not very vocal, she primarily communicates through body language.
Greedy/Gluttonous:
She isn’t a big eater—just a big cat.
Need for Exercise:
Napping is her favourite activity, and she is not particularly eager to exert herself.
Runaway Tendency:
Aside from running away from the couch, this cat won’t go far. She is a homebody and not very adventurous.
HEALTH
The Ragdoll cat is generally healthy, but the breed can be prone to two conditions:
- HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) – A heart disease that affects the heart muscles.
- PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) – A genetic disorder leading to kidney cysts.
Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment and should be carefully considered. Before making a decision, consult your veterinarian or a nearby shelter for guidance. They can help you determine if the Ragdoll breed is the right fit for you.
